Amen. Additives don't solve any cooling problem. I think of them as a 'placebo' that calms the psyche to think it solves it when it really doesn't. I still take the placebo anyway. Feel much better afterwards.:rolleyes:

G.M. Personally I like Skip and appreciate the work he does. You on the other hand? Well, for the record to all who read this, I have requested both publicly and privately that I might be supplied with your proof. Funny but you have never seemed fit to supply that. Some of us know your personal stake with Skip. Some of us know what happened to you on the old Barn. Both of those stories speak volumes about you.
I think you need to take a cleansing breath and get off my a--.
GM, I have stated what I have found. No exaggerations, no slam to Skip.

i have asked him 3 or 4 times for proof or at least a reasonable explanation on his claims on how only his oil stays clean, and the best i could ever get from him was "i do not know why, but i know thats what it does in my cars".
 
In George's defense, he's done a heck of a lot of experimenting and testing, and has posted his results for the good of the hobby. He's a pretty fart smeller, so if only he'd not talk about the zillions and zillions of Fords and bazillions of miles driven without a whimper... :D
 
Had same problem w/ mine (258 CI 59 AB). I flushed engine water jackets w/ light acid mix to remove scale. Then added Drake water pumps. I run distilled water in summer w/o thermostats. Runs cool (170-180 max) going fast or slow even in the Tx heat.
