Converting to a GPS Speedo

What's this world coming too! I like old cars because they are not the complicated with new technology.ie. OSBII ports, tire sensors ect. Saying that I try not to use my computer more than 1hr. a day. Ha,ha

My sentiments exactly. I like old things, including car, to remember how it was in the old day and re-live my youth you might say. If you want all of the new technology, get a new car.

While the speedo cable on many of my cars/trucks has worked properly for 50 or 75 years,
lets see how good a gps electronic speedo works anytime after the 90 day warranty expires.
It certainly wont be 50 or 75 years,

Those saying their GPS speedos are accurate how do they know?? What is the comparative reference?
I took 2 GPS phones in the Tudor to compare them and at times they were reading 5mph different. Just because it reads out in digital doesnt mean its right!
I think my original speedo is fairly consistent, if inaccurate, so I used my Garmin to calibrate it. The Garmin may not be always right but its prob better than the old original unit. I need to know what 30, 40, 50 and 70 are, so I ve memorised what the old speedo reads at those speeds.
Works a charm!

Did you guys ever think that the cars aren't stock? Maybe they have a T5 transmission with electric speedo? There is much discussion on here about the conversion.
