Hi everybody,
Just a short follow up to my post about thehot staring problems I had some months ago. Well as I said, replacing the coil and condenser together cured the problem until this week when in this highly unusual spell of hot weather in the UK I ground to a halt fortunately outside a good pub.I have now sourced good quality condensers which are working a treat. Anyone on this side of the pond can find them at The Distributor Doctor site or Swift Tune. They may more expensive but it beats the hell out of breaking down and now I can choose which pub to go to as well.

John - Thank you for the follow-up. I too had a condenser problem that I first mistakenly diagnosed as a fuel problem. When I finally found it was the condenser, the first purchased replacement went bad too. I then surveyed our club members and bought a known condenser that would last.

I wonder if a list of such parts could be put together and posted on the Fordbarn vendor site that are known to work good and last. I know this may be subjective, but it may be worth a try.

Time away from a pub due to car problems can't be tolerated. Time away from the pub for any reason can't be tolerated. Pub time is one of life's little necessities. The car needs to be fixed, buy a good condenser ! Its only the cost of a pint or two or three.
