Compression help

1938 flathead turned over by hand looks like 40 psi would this be in spec ?
Thanks for any help
 
Assume your referring to cylinder pressure. It is hard to get a good compression test turning an engine over by hand. Even with the starter it takes several revolutions to get a good pressure reading. I would guess that 40 psi would not be that bad for a hand cranked engine, but not really a good way to check it.
