Completed Retirement Project

Just a few pictures of my latest retirement project. Hope the color doesn't give some of the diehard restorers a stroke. Will put it on the Swap Meet section when the snow melts.

Nice looking roadster. Now if that was mine, I would paint it a bright red ;). Don't worry about what others think or say.

Thanks for the comments. I'll try and answer some of the questions. We brought the car up from the Ohio-Kentucky border. Of interest is the fact that the inner rumble lid and rumble floor were modified to hold a large tank with a hidden outlet under the fender. Maybe the guy was a dairy farmer and hauled milk in the trunk. The drivetrain is original with a rebuilt LB flathead with Red's ceramic headers and dual Smithy's. The brakes are 1940 Ford with the Early V-8 Garage conversion. For handling I used a 39 steering box and superslide front spring. A twelve volt conversion with electronic ignition, modern fuse box and alternator were also installed. The color is 2000 Ford bright orange. I believe this color was only used by Ford for the pinstriping on the F150-special Harley Davidson model. I have given up trying to please others when it comes to color, wheels and interior, so I build them the way I like them to look and handle and try to find someone who likes the same thing. Its a lot more fun that way. Already well under way is an A-V8 full fendered 1928 Roadster with souped up 53 Merc. If you search for "psych", you can see a couple projects that I have finished recently.

Here is a picture or two showing an Ohio car of a similar color. Friend of mine brought this one back from the dead couple years ago. It was sort of a movie car, used as a prop in the weird movie "Godspell",it was featured in the V8 Times January February 1973 on back cover , guess the editors thought it looked good in its pyschodelic look back then. I sent pictures to the current editor at what was saved, guess they didn't like the 59AB or the paint job, never heard anything .

I'm sure the one of the previous owners built the tank to haul milk to the local dairy, undetected. Interesting what turns up, isn't it?
