Geez Guys. I’m not looking for a judging recommendation. I’m just curious if there was a common place these decals were placed. Sheesh, such unnecessary sarcasm.
Heck, I'd probably put it in the lower passenger's side of the windshield - in the corner. Who knows if a dealer would have put the sticker on at all . . . let alone where they might have put it. If you don't want to obstruct any windshield glass then I'd put it in the rear lower corner of one of the rear/side windows.
Just took a short cruise down the blue shield Interstate 8 for the first time with my freshly installed Columbia. Pretty awesome ride with Diamondback radials and a cruising gear.
When I bought some parts from John Connelly, I added the decal to the list. I'm going to put it on in a few minutes. After intensive research and soul searching, I've decided upon the lower left windshield because my gas rationing sticker is correctly positioned on the lower right windshield. Don't want to get too much weight on the right and have the car lean to one side!

I'd like to know as well if there was a common location for the decal as well. I'd assume dealers would want to others to know that a car they sold had one it to drum up additional business.
Was not this a dealer installed option for a 33 vehicle? I cannot imagine each dealer choosing the same spot to attach a decal. Probably handed it to the owner and said "stick the damn thing where ever you like." I think Columbia wanted the advertisement and the owner wanted to say "See what I have!" LOL
I do not believe the decals were original to the Columbia but rather aftermarket. There are several references to Columbia's in in Ford vehicles in original Ford letters. Even the installation on a vehicle ordered through the Ford factory and picked up in Dearborn.
Not an accessory sold by FMC but was sold and installed in Lincolns by Lincoln employees. Believe Columbia and FMC had a close relationship.
41 Ford PU: There are a couple of people that rebuild Columbia and in some cases can supply one ready to install. John at Columbia Two Speed is just one. He is also the supplier for parts and controls.
I've been thinking of the Columbia ever since I bought my 41 pickup a few years ago. It would be nice to take it on a road trip.
I'll check into it further.
