coker radials

Hi Barners, Does any one out there know if coker's 600x16 radials will fit in a 34 pickup fender well? From what I have read on the Barn most of you recommend radials versus bias ply. Any input will be appreciated. I will be using wire wheels.
Thank you
Gary.

Gary,

I ran 6.00 x 16 on the front and 7.00 x 16 on the rear of my 32, should fit without a problem and I really loved the way they drove.

600x16 radial tires should fit the '34 PU fender wells with no problems. I have Coker 600x16 radials on one of my '35's and Diamondback 750x16 radials on rear and 550x16 radials on front of another '35 and they also fit well with no problems. The ride with radials is far better than the ride I was getting with bias ply tires. I would never even think about changing back. JMO, JM

Re: coker radials/ DIAMOND BACKS

I have a 35 with wire wheels an run Diamond Back Radials. Rides better and steers just great. The rims were power coated and there is no inner tubes , plus no leakes.

Re: coker radials/ DIAMOND BACKS

Hi Chet, You may get this question twice I tried to email you but not being very computor savvy I'm not sure it went through. Did the powder coating make the wire wheels airtight? It seems that Coker radials are tube type, apparently Diamondback are tubless?
Thank you
Gary

Diamondback do not make tyres, they machine the sidewalls and apply whitewalls. The tyres themselves can be any current production radial.

The Cokers you speak of are a different animal. I would suggest any technical questions be asked of Coker direct. Corky often answers over on the HAMB as well.

Yes, run them with radial tubes. They are the closest you'll get to a bias look.

The Diamond Back radials that I have on my '35 sedan, as shown in my Avatar picture, are 750x16 Yokohama black walls on the rear and 550x16 Michelin black walls on the front (no vulcanized on white walls here). The original tire manufacturers name, and other info, have been removed from the front wall only of these tires. I am using tubes rated for radial tires that I bought at a local Ag store for $12.00 ea. These tires are mounted on 16" x 4" powder coated '35 Ford wires. It's possible that I could have run these tires tubeless but I choose not to do that. The technical help that I received came directly from Bill Chapman, President of Diamond Back Classic Radials. You can reach him toll free in the USA at 1-888-922-1642.
