Frank I just did 8 coils. Was surprised at how easy it was. On one side at the bottom you will see 2 nails. Put a thin blade under the wood and lift them slightly to raise the nail heads and pull them out. The wood will then slide off the coil body. The capacitor is on the short side opposite the brass contacts. I was able to pry this piece out on all 8 coils. Gives plenty of room to dig out the old cap. You can also remove the glass spacer you'll find in there. Unsolder the old cap and resolder the new in place making sure no wires toutch any others. You can "buzz box" test them to make sure all's well. Replace the side piece you removed. Use pieces of wood to take up the space. I melted the old tar in a small can on the barbeque outside. About 400 degrees. Took 15 mins to soften enough to pour. You don't have to fill the space. It's just to secure everything. Replace the sliding piece and the nails. I used slightly longer brads. Like I said, no sweat. Biggest problem is using care when digging out the tar. All you'll need is someone (maybe in a local club) with an HCCT tester to set them up properly. I did 5 Ford coils and 3 KW's.
