"Clutching" at straws!

Sorry for cheap pun. A friend shipped me his recently completed '31 S/W sedan. He asked me to go over the car and deal with anything I found. He mentioned specifically that there is some problem with the clutch. I found that the clutch wouldn't fully engage no matter what adjustment I attempted and there seemed to be a lot of vibration. I pulled up the carpet and removed the clutch housing inspection cover. I found that the clutch release bearing/hub had been installed backwards!

It maybe a good idea to take the complete car apart, who knows what else is wrong, some people should have there tools taken away.

Another case of half assed backyard mechanics that don't know sheep **** from licorice balls. They think they are masters of everything when really they are fools with a wrench in their hands, Wayne.

Haha, that's special!!! I've seen clutch plates installed backwards but never a complete assembly, whatever it may be lol , stuff normally only fits one way !

Holly cow........now that's one I couldn't have imagined.

Check the fingers height and make sure they are all even at 11/16" while it's apart.

We recently had another person do that here .....except he drove his around the block until smoke came out , and it squealed like a pig from deliverance

heard the same story on a fully restored A roadster about 45 years ago..........

fella bought it for a song and turned it around! then went on to trade it for a rusted 1904 Cadillac model B chassis...........

The other guys bearing problem was; the bearing was installed the wrong way not the whole thing turned around.
