On page 161 of the 2012 Brattons catalog there are Ford factory photos. One of the photos shows a Sprot Coupe with what apperas to be a second cloth top over the rumble seat. Does anyone know if this was a factory accessory? Has anyone ever seen one? The picture number is 38530. I wonder if there is any place to get one of these.

I saw one on a beautiful dark blue roadster at Vaughns trim shop , in Greer South Carolina in 72 or 73 .

I thought it was an odd looking thing , but the car was dressed to the gills .

This is off of the website for my local club. I have never seen it and don't have any more info.

Thanks guys. I had never seen one before this one. Might be nice to have on a hot day with someone riding in the rumble seat.

You can see the old ads for these in the book:

"Those wonderful unauthorized accessories for Model A Ford", by Murray Fahnestock.

The photo in question is actually a photo taken in the 60's and Bob C is correct it is an original Tuxaway top. The car is owned by a gentleman who lives in Texas, I can't remember his name off the top of my head, I believe he may be a member of the Piney Wood A's. He is a friend of my buddy Bob Hitchcock, I was supposed to see the car and Huff and Puff the bus, when I was picking up my mailtruck but time didn't allow it.

I think the sport coupe is named Clemintine?
If you can find a copy Vol.# 1 Issue # 4 of The Restorer or Re-Print of it, on page # 31 is a picture of that same car ..1st place Red Grow.. I bought the 1928 Coupe 3rd place car in San Diego 1964 & still have it..

Fred, looking at that issue right now, was Mr. Cooley still the owner in 64? If you're ever near Frederick, look me up, would like to meet you..

I've seen that one listed on eBay before. It didn't sell. A bit overpriced if you ask me. You can still find it if you search auction number 400275624674.

The one on eBay is not a Tuxaway top and it is not foldable like the Tuxaway. It may be overpriced, but unless you built your own where would you find another. That eBay seller has some of the finest restored original parts offered on the site.
