Clock

I'm usually on the early V 8 forum, but have a question that probably has an answer on the T forum. I was given a clock/watch that was reputed to be a car clock. The maker is Waltham and it is an 8 day clock. It appears too bulky to be a pocket watch and I am not sure how it would mount on the dash of a car. I believe these clocks were accessorys from about 1920 to maybe the early 1930's. I have managed to get it running, but it should be cleaned and oiled by a pro. I have included a couple of pictures.

I believe that you are missing the bracket, which is held to the header with screws. The clock snaps into the bracket.
It is a genuine automobile clock.

Thanks for the confirmation. I hadn't thought of it mounting to the header. I assume that the bracket that it was mounted in had some way to secure it from theft. What did the bracket look like? Does anyone have pictures of one of these mounted in a car?

Go to waltham auto clock images on the web. There are many, many different models shown. Yours might be there. Good luck.
