Clearance needed on a split skirt piston

I am rebuilding an engine using a set of split skirt pistons that I had in my inventory. Do these pistons need to be fit with less clearance than a solid skirt piston. Thank you for any input.

Is it a full slit or partial slit. .0025 will work for either. .002 on the full slit will work. Some of the scored pistons in the modern rebuilds is because some nit wit engineer or bean counter decided we can make another 5 cents on a piston if we don't machine the slot.

Richard is right. It is better to have them a little loose rather than too tight.
