After searching over a year I finally found the trim pieces for my ranch wagon that say ranch wagon. I think they're stainless but they've got some black stains on them. Anybody got a trick to bring them back to life? I tried some metal polish today it help but didn't get them all out. Thanks

Start with wet 1000 grit sandpaper, then 1500,then 2000 then find a buffing wheel.

I have started with some really rough pieces at 500 grit and worked my way up.

Good luck

The above method works. I had a NOS piece that had rat poop on it from storage, etched the stainless. Went as far as 220 grit to get most of the pitting out. Work it over a wider area on both sides of the spot you have.

Try an more aggressive compound first, it may get the spot out without having to do any sanding.

Are you sure it's not pot metal. A lot of the pieces that were names were pot metal. If it has a rough backside, it's probably pot metal.
