Cleaning out the cooling system

I have a 1929 motor that has a build up of "brown crud" in the cooling system. Since I am rodding the radiator, I would like to get the inside of the engine cooling system cleaned out as well.

What are the best ways of cleaning out the system?

Fill it up with Drain'O and water for about 20 to 25 minutes. then flush it out. After you flush out the draino with fresh water blow a few light bust of air through it while the water is still in it. It should blow out anything that shouldnt be in there. I made a tool for doing this. Worked for me. Be careful it will eat any paint

The V8 guys say vinegar and run it. Probably should have done this or the other ideas offered BEFORE removing radiator to have it rodded. JMO

What is frequently plugging things up is 80 years of water pumb grease. You need to use a LITTLE Tide or Cascade. May take several cleanings to get it all out.
