I am working on patching up some John Brown 110 side lights. My question is how can I clean the reflectors of the accumulation of soot and junk without damaging the underlying reflective coating?
These lamps are not for show so they do not have to be 100%.
Thank you.

I cleaned the reflectors on a set of electric 26 headlights with Simichrome Polish. Turned out great. Would think a quick wipe down with kerosene would remove the soot to get you started.

I have not tried this in your application, but aerosol brakekleen works great at removing carbon deposits from cyl head combustion chambers. Be careful whatever you do...it is so easy to rub off the silver so if at all possible, limit the actual rubbing .
