Cleaning Blackwall Tires-Followup

Hi you guys,

I have been using a CARQUEST product to clean my tires and keep the same look as when they were new, not shiney like some of the products available. It has worked good for me.

Purple Cleaner, CCM 5315, 1 Quart spray container, cleans and degreases. The cost was $ 3.50

I also use a CARQUEST brush wheel cleaner, CPC 21020, for scrubing the tires. Cost was $ 6.27

After cleaning 5 tires, front and back, there is enough cleaner to do a set of tires 6 or 7 times more at least.

It may sound strange, but the best that I have found is black stove polish. It is a waxy substance that finishes flat. I even turned a set of white-walls into black-walls with it. It is good for your running boards too. It will last forever too ! If you live in the south, you probably don't know what it is. You might have to go to a fireplace store to find it. Try it, you'll like it !
MIKE :)

PS... You had better wear plastic gloves - It sure stains !

I use a product called Beyond Black. I got it a NAPA. A Detailer told me about it and it works great. The tires and running boards look like new.
