Choke butterfly shaft removal, which side?

Which side of the carb (standard Zenith) does the choke butterfly shaft come out of, or will it come out either way? I am considering epoxying on the external lever that turns the shaft but if it would need to be removed to pull out the shaft I am not going to do that.

This is really hard to explain, short short version the small actuating arm is falling off the shaft and I want to glue it fast, but don't want to make it impossible to pull the shaft down the road.

Thanks,
CHAZ

if you remove the screws in the butterfly and remove the butterfly itself the shaft will slide right out arm and all.

To answer your question it will come out either side... The choke plate holds it in and centered... Don't rig it with epoxy, buy a new shaft, plate and screws....a couple dollars and five minutes of your time..

Hoof I just put new parts into a tilly for a fellow Model A person. The new chock shaft really tightened up the carb. You will really enjoy the rebuild Make sure the srewdriver fits the slotof the screw. use penitration oil.

yea I would epoxy it if I was out and about but for as readily available and cheap as the correct new parts are Im with the others and say replace the parts.
