Chinese Rubber from Dennis Carpenter?

its not just DC, its something about rubber itself that they have changed in the last 20 years or so. i'm sure its to be made cheaper, but have you noticed rubber gas line cracked at only a few years? i once bought a new rear window gasket and within 5 years the rubber looked worse than the 50 year old one i thought i was fixing! have you looked at any tie rod boots you replaced a few years back? i am not a rubber chemist, but they must have left something out of the recipe to make more profit

I think at this stage in the game.........it's just the way it is and will not get better in the near future folks! :)

We unfortunately just have to live with it!

...
Now here's another thought for those who continually complain about the quality level of parts and services offered by our suppliers presently in this business. In the case of this particular rubber part, consider using your own savings to have a multi cavity mold made, buy some rubber extruding/molding machines, do the engineering research necessary to determine the correct material to use, test and retest the product to make sure it will hold up in actual use, find a manufacturing site here in the USA, then go into business yourself supplying these boots to the huge global market that must exist. Get exteemly wealthy making this quality part, then start looking for more cheap, low quality parts to start manufacturing.

Thank you!

A guy on the Ford Trucks site doing a 100% restoration was dismayed that he couldn't get new e-brake cable boots (rubber) anywhere. So he found a NOS boot, made molds from polymers, and is going to produce them in his garage. He already makes the boots to connect the MagicAire heaters to the cab on 48-52 trucks, and from what I've heard, they are high quality (too early to say how long they'll last). He's the only source for them. From what I've heard, he hasn't sold 50 of those heater boots. He's sure not getting rich off them either.

Well it all started somewhere....

Did anybody suspect that when in 1926 General Motors CEO, Alfred Sloan
Invented and Implemented the idea of Automotive Vehicle/Planned Obsolescence,
designing things to break in your hands and extracting additional cash from your wallet
for a replacement,
would eventually become the standard as to everything and anything you or I purchase?

Yes,
Henry Ford did.
Yet as others have mentioned, sheeple kept drinking the cool aide and supporting dishonest
manufacturers even after years of deceit and public deception culminating most recently in
a multi billion dollar bail out and as in the case of just last year in
33,000,000 GM vehicles being recalled (in less than 1 year).

33,000,000 vehicles recalled, that's the total production of Chrysler for 30 years.

Still, people support the very companies that have proven again and again that they prefer to put
millions of lives in danger (while injuring many 100,000s and killing hundreds)
just to save 3 cents on an ignition switch.

What really gets me is how hard the company and lawyers fought to dis-include several
100 million GM vehicles/potential lawsuits just because they had gone bankrupt and

"GM is not responsible for cars manufactured with parts designed to fail"
before the bankruptcy.

Nobody takes a stand,
Nobody boycotts,
Everybody falls in line.
Everybody just buys a new planned obsolescence Truck every other year before the warranty runs out.
We the sheeple have been lulled into accepting this as "The Norm" irregardless of company or product.

But it all started somewhere and that was GM, 1926, Alfred Sloan.

...Irregardless, Other corporations soon fell in line.
-------------------------

Henry Ford spoke out many times in regards to General Motors and their practice of
building things to wear out (Planned Obsolescence) in order to to
pad the pockets of GM share holders ...

Ford was disgusted with Alfred Sloan (a thief) and his/General Motors invention of
"Planned Obsolescence".....

This time in history is generally referred to as
"Fordism vs. Sloanisn"

Below is an exert of just one of the times that Ford spoke out...

(practical).

Some years later Harley Earl (1955) admits his early (1926/up) involvement in GM's, in
Alfred Sloan grand scheme of "Planned Obsolescence" and how the new
small block chevy powered general motors cars were merely just
a continuation of planned obsolescence...

Certainly, I am not the Only one that has actually boycotted a company FOR LIFE?

Yes/No?

-Nobody cares,
-Nobody takes a stand,
-Nobody boycotts,
-Everybody falls in line.
-Everybody just buys a new planned obsolescence Truck or Fridge every other year
hopefully before the warranty runs out.

Additionally, is anybody surprised that just a few years ago,
When Wikipedia announced that they had received a record setting
$6,000,000 grant from The Sloan Foundation

that over the course of the next few months,
Wikipedia would be purged of all the negative history that the GM and Alfred Sloan pages had stacked up?
That's not to include 1000's of additional pages that reflected poorly on the history of related shyster corporations.

===============================

This all begs the question, How is your 3 year old Samsung Refrigerator working?
I see,, and the Washing machine??

Will it out last the 40 year old avocado green Kenmore that your wife
thought was old and outdated?

Who's to blame?

?

Nobody cares
