Hello, anyone attend Chickasha swap meet? How was it attended; vender and buyers? Did the price of gas keep some from going, anyone find any good deals? Just wondering I would have loved to been able to have gone.

The Pre War swap meet was March 18-19. There's another in May. I'm not sure which has the most model A's. I hope there's some at the next meet.

Agreed, Didn't buy any Model A stuff. Very little there. Mostly Model T stuff. Lots fewer vendors. Won't make the trip next year after going for about 20 years.

I last went 15 years ago with my gearhead brother. We always had a good time with tons of vendors.
I think the "new" crowd doesn't want to face to face with folks and just buy unseen from the internets.

Seems you have to pick and choose carefully on swap meets. All are waning for reasons other than COVID. There is a finite amount of original parts. Seems the only time a cache of parts come out is upon the passing of the owner or retirement (old hobbyist don’t quit readily!). And, need to check with those “in the know” for years-specific swap meets.
Hershey has changed greatly in the “mix” of parts. I hear Gilmore is great for A; never been.

i was at Chickasha this year it has been going down for about 7 years now bad weather on Friday I had a lot of A parts but was about the only one there so I did very well I don't think it will make it much longer little interest and virtually no vendors. I hate to see it go I have been going for nearly 20 years. It is just not wort the 7-hour drive anymore all the A guys I know have either passed away or aged out

There’s some good feedback on the MTFCA Forum. It was said that more than 50% of paid vendors didn’t show on Friday. Guess weather scared folks off.

I was there at Thursday thru Saturday morning. I did well Thursday afternoon for buying and I set up a space Friday. I did well and sold most of my stuff. Overall it was a disappointment with low turnout. Very little Model A stuff and lots and lots of model T parts. Prices were all over the map.

People were packing up and leaving by 1200 Saturday.
