Far be it from me as a newer member to give advice but I suspect most of us add water in the summer to these old birds (most like to spit a little out). Get a tester and have the old gal/guy do a piss test at the lower hose petcock into a container and be sure you're OK with the freeze level of the coolant.

instead of adding water keep a container of 50/50 handy. Then you don't have to be concerned. Wayne

Never seen a block crack because of freezing here in my life and I'm in the south (colder) part of the country. Besides, we're coming into the warmer weather. I only run soluble oil in the water.
