Hello,


Does anyone know Charlie NY contact information? I am looking to buy a fuel pump from him. Is he the same person as Charlie Price from Vintage Speed? If so I have his contact information.

Just chatted with him today. Among others things he sure has the fuel pump diaphragm problem figured out.

Going to the right man? Hmmm.

I am a biased person here, but on my '36 Phaeton, the fuel pump, carb, trans, and diff, were all worked over by CharlieNY. Very satisfied with every aspect of the relationship.
 
Charlie did my carb and pump. Great reliable responsive service. Know you're interested in a pump but another carb guy WAS now retired Ken Isidor over in CT, who I think is still selling-off his parts. He still likes to chat about that stuff.

What do we do when these guys are gone ? Like 'Ol Ron, we got to get them to write manuals.

"Lobo",

There are several ways to do this :

1. Contact the aforementioned "Charlie ny" and get on his list for one.
The contact information and even the price are mentioned in a current related thread.

2. Keep watching eBay and if a used one (Mallory, MSD, converted SBC,
or something similar) comes up the suits your fancy, buy it.

3. Place a "Wanted" ad here or on the H.A.M.B. (or some other forum).

Unless you have been through his before, I highly recommend number 1. You might also want to review some of the older threads on here where this has been discussed extensively. You need to get a little background knowledge so you can make the proper decision. Things like points vs. electronic, and what kind of advance (mechanical only or vacuum over mechanical). It would be helpful to know the specifics of the engine and the kind of car it is going into.

I love this picture. It's Charlie ny and his charming bride. Check-out the smiles on those two. That OTHER Charlie bunch....that pair, especially the Mrs...…..they're infamous for not showing any signs of a smile while razzin' yur butt over the phone. These two are the "real deal"! DD
