Here's a picture of the factory water flow deflector built into the block. This block is from early 1929, and has to be the most fixed and abused engine I've ever seen. The second picture is to show that people have successfully welded blocks. It was sleeved after the welds, then it was again freeze cracked and rods were thrown. I wasn't able to save anything from this engine except a few bolts. I had to use a sledge hammer to beat the pistons out for scrap aluminum. All the tappets and vavle were rusted in place. I cut the inlet side to use as a jig for making engine side mount adaptors, but no longer make them. All that rust was added this short summer due to all our rain, even though the part was inside.
