Hey Marc, I don't think this was aimed specifically at new Model A owners. More a general comment that a lot of people just randomly replace parts not really knowing why they're replacing them, hoping that it will solve their problem. All we're saying is before swapping out old parts for new, first diagnose the problem then you'll know what you need to replace, if anything at all. I know I've made the mistake of replacing parts before diagnosing the problem based on a "guess" and have wasted money before. I'm sure most of us have at one point or other. I think the thread is just trying to make the inexperienced person think a little before trying to fix something.So...how many of the "expert" mechanics here when their computer doesn't work just turn the power off and on instead of solving the specific software problem ?
Helpful, kind words to a new Model A owner are much more useful than just running them down because they are new to the auto world.

Oh, and when my computer goes wrong, I do switch it off, and generally walk away from it!
To fix software problems on a computer you'll need some education.
It's the same with fixing a car. But cars are easier and this site is about cars after all ☺
