Changing 1940 pickup headlights 1939

Can anybody explain the process of changing my 1940 PU headlights over to a 1939?

The '39 headlight bucket will bolt right in to the '40 fender. Just add the 39 lens and rim and you are good to go.

???? Two totally different beasts. Do you have a 1940 1/2T PU now? The 1940 1/2T lights fit in the fenders and the '39-'40 front fenders are not interchangeable. Are you asking about car lights? Photos may help.

38bill is correct. The ‘39 pickup headlights are just like ‘35-‘37. They are not incorporated in the fender unlike a ‘40 pickup. If you’re looking to put ‘39 passenger car headlights in your pickup, that may well work. You would need the buckets and bezels if the hole openings are the same. I also believe ‘40’s used sealed beam headlights so you would need ‘39 reflectors, bulb sockets, bulbs, etc.
