Chanding tires on 26 T

Now this you would think would be simple. I know how it suppose to work, but dang, it just don't. How do you keep from pinching the tubes? Borrowed a tool to pull the rim to get it off, is there a different one to push the rim back together? Thanks for any tips or instructions. Jon.

No, i didn't have a flap. Just got the car and the tire wouldn't hold air. All dry rotted. Got one of my spare A tires and tube. I'm thinking the tube got pinched by the bead when I inflated it. I was real careful not to pinch it with the iron. I inflatred it partly, and then struggled like hell to get it back together. I think the tube got caught by the bead. Are there different types of spreaders?

Get the correct flaps. Their necessary. And don't resort to duct tape. That won't work in the long run either.

These are wood spoke wheels with 21 inch tires. I will be ordering new tires, tubes and flaps. Just needed to get a better tire on it. It was flat and can't move it around like that. I did succeed in getting it all back together and holding air. Thanks for the tips. I use some liquid soap and it went together alot easier. Well have more questions later as I get into more of it. Had to clean sediment bowl, it was totally packed full of junk. It runs real nice now. Thanks again, Jon
