Chahnging AR Brakes

I'd like to be able to change the wheels on my 1928 AR Roadster so I can put on 16" spokes or even steel rims on. The studs are much shorter than a standard Model A. Putting on the shim/adapter which allows the newer wire wheels, leaves even less threads on the studs to use.

At this time, I do not want to convert the brakes from mechanical to hydraulic, as the brakes work excellent. Can I replace the AR drum studs with standard Model A studs or change out all four brake assemblies with standard Model A?

Thank you........

Your AR drum is different from a Standard A drum, thus, your new 16" wheels will not seat properly on the AR drums. The 16" wheels will seat properly on the standard A drums and you do not need spacers. - just bolt them on. check your private messase board. ken
