I have one of Drakes roof antenna for my 46 delivery. The installation is straight forward except where the unit passes through the dash. Do any of you 42-48 owners have a pic of what this looks like? I can make most anything and would like to see what others have done. Thanks a million until your better paid.

This is a diagram of the antennae wire coming down inside the car near the windshield divider then attaching to the fitting that goes in that hole at the top of the radio grill divider chrome. It's a convertible diagram but should be the same for any roof antenna. Hopefully your kit came with that dash connector. Didn't Drake send any instructions and diagrams?

I installed one a couple years ago in my '47. It took some fabrication and time. One of the brass tubes was to long so I shortened it and re-threaded it. I also ended up having a cable made to go from antenna base to radio. I can take pictures on Saturday if you tell me what you would like to see.

I would not use one again. I had one on my 47 ford coupe. It was going to rain when i was aat my buddies and he said just back her in my garage. I did and never thought about a low door opening. The antenna was gone. end of story. Marv
