CAUTION to those going to Vancouver in your Model A...

CAUTION to those going to Vanvouver in your Model A...ESPECIALLY to the newbies and neophytes of Model A'ing (or anywhere or anyone in this HOT summer heat).

Do not...DO NOT completely fill your gas tank...leave about an inch or two from the top because gas will expand especially in a HOT gas tank.

If so, you will have gas overflowing out the filler tube of the tank and into places you wish it wasn't going. Been there. Done that. And do not want to experience it again.

It is very hot up here in the Pacific Northwest this time of the year...BE SAFE and CAUTIOUS!

Have a great and SAFE trip.

Pluck who is still in wheat harvest with 2 weeks to go.

Wow. You guys are getting 98 degree days. That seems pretty nuts. I was going to say "How hot can it possibly be getting up there?" but I just looked it up.

Down here in Dallas, we are used to the multiple weeks of triple digit temps and just squint your face and open the windshield. Having that A/C in the Model A helps, too but you need a lot of firewall and floor insulation for you to start overcoming the swelter! :D

What hot?

we just checked the Weather Channel web page for Vancouver.
their high this afternoon was about the same as our overnight low here. ;)

driving in hot weather I always fill the tank completely and have never had an overflow. of course I seldom fill up at the end of the driving day, I usually consume some of the gas before parking for the night.

Judy & I will be arriving in Vancouver Thursday afternoon the 5th and are going on the Alaska cruise......
