Carburetors / intake

So looks like the only stock carburetor I have is one thats missing most of its insides... and no model-B carbs.

What I have is a Winfield Model-M, a Tillotson, and a no name...
All with the model-A sized throat.
Any thoughts on each of these?
I would like to run the Winfield, but the Tillotson looks like its freshly rebuilt...
Not sure of anything on the no name one but it all moves freely.

Just wondering about experience with any of them, good or bad.

I do have a B intake is it worth running the B intake with an A sized carb?

Tillison is a good carb, it disipates the heat better than a zenith. But i would try getting that funky looking one to run, and keep the tillison as a spare. I guarentee you would be the only one around running that weird one, and i always like having the unique car.

The photo at the top is generally described as a "square bowl" carburetor. I am told they were sold by Western Auto. They are similar to a Tillotson. I have friend who likes them. He says they idle well like a Tillotson, but have the top end power of a Zenith.

My dad's '29 roadster has this square-bowl carb, and it is the best running of all three of our 'A's. I've got a Zenith and a Tilly, but would take Dad's if he would let me have it. :- )

Not precisely the same thing, but I believe Vince's A-B site gives the periods in which they were sold as Ford parts counter replacements. Square was Marvel-Schebler. If neither has warpage or issues, get just gasket kits and mayve inlet valves and try'em both. I might shake loose a "B" for an interesting trade for Ford stuff.
