Carburetor Question

I want to paint my Zenith carburetor so I want to do a partial disassembly. My carb is different than most I see on Y tube. I have a 1931 and where the fuel goes in I have an attachment that puts fuel in at a right angle to the carb and has a valve on the bottom of it. Can I unscrew this attachment from the main part of the carb?

It sounds as if you have a late 1931 carb with the side bowl filter. That's what makes this Zenith carb correct for your car and highly desirable. Do NOT screw it up by removing parts. You need to educate yourself about your late 1931 Model A so that you don't make mistakes like this and ruin the value of your car.

Hey John,

That is called a "sidebowl carburetor", and as pointed out already, common to late 1931 Model A's. Yes, you can unscrew the sidebowl part. The rest if the carburetor is pretty standard Zenith.
