Carburetor Problem - Need Help

Thanks to everyone for your replys. Ford fixer ,you were right on. I used a thicker gasket under the float valve and added another to the cap jet and guess what. Problem solved . Dont know which one or both did the job but thank goodness carb is now high and dry.
Thanks again.

I finally got to work on the Carburetor today and I installed a rework kit. I have not had a chance to drive it yet but it does run at idle.

I am not sure what effect it will have on my problem but there was not compensator jet in the carburetor. What exactly does the compensator jet do?

Thanks

Bob

Thanks for all the help I received in resolving my carburetor problem. I finally bought and installed a rebuild kit. When I bought the carburetor I was told it was rebuilt but when I got inside there was no compensator jet installed.
I cleaned and reassembled the carburetor and the engine seems to be performing well and my "running rich" has ceased.

Thanks Again
Bob
