carburetor leaking

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong? If the car sits for a longer time with the fuel tap open, the carburetor leaks at the front. I've checked the float level, and I don't think it's too high.
also replaced the small jet seals.

float vavle is clean en blow in to it, it was close.

My initial guess would echo Katy's, that the float valve is not sealing completely, allowing to bowl to overfill after sitting for a while, which causes it to spill out of the jets when the fuel level rises above the tip of the jets. But a friend of mine was having he same issue, and he changed float valves several times, but he eventually found a small crack in the casting that caused a small leak.

Piet, you mention it's leaking at the front but the photo of the rear is not explained. Leaking at the front would indicate something with one of the two fittings. The mention of a possible crack should be investigated in the upper casting. The inlet fitting and the screen fitting could leak due to inconsistencies with the screen plug or fitting on the front there. Cast iron is brittle and previous shade tree mechanics could have over stressed the casting there. Fuel will find it's way through the smallest of cracks over time so it's well worth a check. Corrosion pitting or porosity in the casting are other possible problems.

all of the above are good suggestiions , but remember the float valve is a metering device and the fuel tap is the fuel cut off device!

when you say the front do you mean the bowl area?
i have a problem with my carb leaking and im starting to suspect it's the fuel line fitting.
my problem is it looks like the bowl would be over flowing, causing me to think it's the jets.
but after some chalk test, i'm suspecting it's a bad fitting.
