Carburetor for an AF engine: is it the same as for an A engine?

Can anyone tell me is the original carburetor for a Model AF (small bore for Europe) engine the same as the one for the basic Model A engine? I'm guessing that it would have a smaller throat to match the smaller bore intake manifold?

I'm looking for a carburetor for an AF engine (June 1929 car) and was offered this one (see photos). The plug screwed into the fuel intake of this carb is stamped "AF". Would that mean maybe that it is for an AF engine (industrial engine perhaps since the plug is where the normal fuel intake line would go)?

For the moment I have a AF and a A engine - what i can tell is that I've changed the carburetors from one engine to another, and I didn't noticed any difference. In fact they are both the same (exterior!)

Hi Brad
The cast body is the same the venturi is smaller diameter and the jets are smaller
The compensater jet is a 17 instead of 19. It looks like you have one there, I have seen them marked like that before. but normally the filter is in the normal position.

The intake manifold also has a smaller inside diameter .I have one if you need it also have other small bore parts including 2 engine blocks

Brad,
The carburetor looks like it has the pin boss for the dual venturi. Is there a pin or hole in the pin boss?

Resurrecting this thread from the dead (long dead!)

I was searching for what an AF carburetor was, and ran across this thread. For interest's sake, here's a drawing I found of that exact plug, from the Ford archives.

The AF spec carb is the same as the A spec carb the only difference being the jets and smaller dia pot metal venturi The carb intake does not match the smaller dia intake manifold so there is a "step" in the inlet tract . This mismatch does not affect the running after all it is "factory" My AF engine 28 phaeton runs very well with a regular 24 HP Zenith more "go" than the correct AF spec KAYCE carb .I will get some pictures up of a AF carb soon i hope .
