Carberator adaptor

I use a Merc intake manifold, it has a 4 bolt pattern. However, the throttle bores of the 2GC are larger than the Ford or Merc intakes and must be bored out to take advantage of the larger 2GC. The "Y" block 272 Fords have a larger 94 style carb that has the same size throttle bores.

I just bought one of those Speedway adapters so I I can test run both 2G's and 94's on my test engine. It appears to be a nice piece. I am using it with the 4 bolt side towards the engine and it works fine that way. There was a review on Speedway that said the when used the other way, it is difficult to get the third bolt on the back on. You have to drill out the threads on the side that goes over the mounting studs, of course.

Yesterday I went to my shop and decided that I should add a divider to the Speedway adapter to keep the two barrels separate, like Ford originally designed it. It is easily removable, so I'll be able to see if it makes any difference.
