Carb. Test

Okay guys done my own little test with 2 deuce set up. My opinion 94's the best overall. No difference between the 97's or speedway 97's, now is the good part. I ordered Speedway 4 barrel intake and a 390 carb., but did not realize until Friday that they sent me a 600, my opinion that is the best set up of all. The performance is great, the shifting of the car, accelerator pedal so much easier to mash when you change gears smooth as a new car. The only thing that I had to change on the carb, was half turn on idler screws and backed off on the accelerator pump, happiest man in town. See ya'll at the turkey run..

You sure its a 600? whats the number on the choke horn? Really it should be flatspotting ?? You will only be running on the primary which is fine I will almost guarantee it will never see the secondaries, in fact even with a 390 you would be best with the heaviest black spring in there. the main jet size will be close to 66 !!

Ok guys made a real long test run with old HelenT today with the 600 holly, 225 mile round trip to work, this is the 1st real long run with it. Ran great 40 degrees weather today, water temp was a little cool, never got over 160. Think that it's the right time of the year to put thermostats in. Gas mileage was the best that I ever got with the 2 duces 94 or 97 set up, was 13 mpg. Today I got 15.7 mpg.

Not sure what's in the engine or how heavy the car is but I'd expect to see better than 15. Ty an AF meter in cruise and what your timing is at cruise. THis could help all around mileage,

what manifold did you use and what changes did you have to do…changing 2+2 for single 4……thinking of buying parts from speedway….any input would be great..the motor is 276cu in
