carb kit Q...

Routing thru parts , located an old Edelbrock carb kit box. It has new rebuilt parts for stromberg 97 model. My Q is: the instruction/box says for "Methanol" useage rebuild. I unfamiliar...anyone comment on your knowledge/useage in this area?

If it has a pr of main jets in it check size also idle bleed tubes will be of almost double size of gasoline parts.Ken ct. Kit could be for racing on alchol.??

"Instructions for converting stromberg carburetors for use of methanol" sheet says:
-redrill hole behind idling screws of .055
-Approx. correct jetting for Model 48's .082
-for Model 97's .076 and
-for 81's .060 power jet
Black oxide coating on all, but can make out couple .076 for 97s; .060 for 81. Some(4) .045 and a .065 power jet.
More, but Everything coated with the black oxide.
Anyway to clean black off without damageing parts? Probably not worth effort as not used nowadays,eh?? Rick

Box disintergrated, instruction card still perfect. Says that Edelbrock Equipment Co made this stuff at 4921 W. Jefferson, Los Angeles 16, Calif.
Has a number of black(oxide?) parts. I don't know squat about carbs. Just have a couple of carb kit boxes for who know how long....

The midjet racers at zepherhills would love to get hold of those kits.I use to give all my alcahol parts to them when i did the meets there No chg. i had no use for them.Dont know how to get hold of any of them now.sorry, ken ct .They are rare pieces now.ken ct.
