carb diaper?

lakeside

I have a ''no name''carb. It was leaking a bit so put in new gaskets. It still leaks, maybe a tablespoon 24-36 hours. Sometimes more. I've made no other corrections: adjust float, float valve, etc. When I shut it down for the winter I ran it out of gas, closed the gas shut off switch and closed the choke rod.
IMO, it has leaked enough gas to empty the carb and the sediment bowl(which is currently full). Is the shut off switch failing? How can it still be leaking gas? Thanks.

shut off valve has a leak-rebuild or by new. the last Restorer has a great article on carbs get a copy! jet length and proper gaskets under jets is important to keep carbs from leaking. Wire a soup can under it,last resort but then you have a can of gas!!!!!
