Car won't roll

The 26 touring car I got the other day. The back passenger side wheel would not roll. I ended up pulling the wheel to see if the brake was stuck. It was not. The axle would not turn. It drove into the barn where it was parked years ago. The parking brake was left on. Could the clutch plates be stuck? I don't think it would be anything bad. Because the car was in the middle of a restoration when parked. And the whole underside was redone. What do y'all think?

Even if the clutch plates were stuck the car should roll with the engine turning over. Back the bands off and pull the parking brake lever back till it just engages the clutch arm screw. Take the spark plugs out and see if you can move it that way. Can you turn the motor over?

Motor turns over fine. It has been rebuilt and parked. How do I back the bands off. I know my early v8's but not my t's.

Take the transmission inspection cover off and back the 2 nuts on the shafts off. The low band is done from the outside. Don't back them too far, you don't want to drop them in the transmission. If you can turn the motor over without the car moving then the clutch is working. You might have something locked up in the rear end and that's why the car was parked. I will suggest that you buy or barrow a copy of the Model T service book.
Let me repeat: DON'T DROP ANYTHING IN THE TRANSMISSION!

I will check the bands. The car was parked because he never messed with it anymore. It was in the process of being restored. The motor and trans and rear had all been gone through or rebuilt. Thanks

Wait a minute. First things first. Get both rear wheels off the ground and make sure their both free. If OK drop 1 wheel back on the ground and see if the free one is locked. Make sure the hand brake is fully back and check to see if the bits of linkage that come off the pedals on the left side is connected. (they break alot). After all that if the wheel is still locked turn the engine over by hand and see if the tire rotates with the engine. If it does the clutch might be stuck on. Don't pull stuff apart. Check first. Let us know. I've got years in the trade and this T is another animal all together. "Forget what you think you know". Ask. It's free.
