car tags

[flatmotor40]

Got the 40 Ford conv out yesterday to get a AJC paper to deliver one to my Mom and low and behold the County Barney Fife blue lighted me.He said my tag was out of date Have a 1940 Ga on it.Got out showed him a copy and the Ga tag in the trunk. He said he never heard that law that you can use the year tag for a car.So if you are in Ga don't be surprised if you don't get a Barney Fife blue you.

Sometimes I think they just try to irritate you. When I lived in IL I ran YOM plates on my 30 which is legal. I always carried the current ones in the car as required but never opened the package thinking someday they might be valuable as NOS. The plate is visible thru a clear window and the registration is removable from a separate opening. I got stopped once by a local who wanted to check the registration. He made me open the package and take out the plates so he could inspect them. Then they wonder why people hate them.
