Car Show Crash

That is so sad. I can only imagine how the owners feel. Glad no one was hurt. I wonder if old car insurance covers that.

OUCH!! That has to be a nightmare for the owners of those two old cars. Wonder what actually happened?? Stuck accelerator on the Lexus? Lexus driver lost control for some other reason? Lexus driver seeking revenge to owner of Pontiac? I guess we will never know the real reason.

I'm glad that's not my car!

These images are a good reminder though of the safety of our old cars. Notice the heavy metal of the pontiac was destroyed while the light weight Lexus had little damage in comparison. When we are driving our old cars around(especially with young family members on board) we need to be paying special attention to be avoiding accidents. Safety has come a long ways, and our old classics do not hold up well in a crash.

Take this crash test video of a '59 Chevy hitting a 2009 Malibu head on as an example:

the pontiac was side hit by the lex front .the front is much stronger any side hit in any car new or old is bad as there is onley sheet metal. especaly above the chassis rails.worst hit is a t bone now you see why

I've seen this horrible story around the internet for a few weeks now. Sad sad sad. :(

As for the impact/old car concerns, note that she hit above the frame. Of course it is going to destroy the Pontiac. I've yet to see pics of how the Ford faired though. The driver's side of the Pontiac is pretty destroyed too.

I hope the Lexus owner has enough insurance to cover the damages. Too many persons here in TN have only the state required $25K to cover vehicle damage----this will require much more than that.
