Hello!
Would anyone be able to help me in seeking ownership history for my Ford Fairlane 57
I bought it in Wisconsin and the only thing I know is that it is mounted in Long Beach, California and has been there since year 2000.
Is there anywhere where I can find more history about the car?

Håkan, You might try a site such as CarFax or any of the other sites that do this search (Google "Auto Ownership History"). I've never used them personally so I cannot say how good they are.
 
It is very difficult, if not impossible to tract the ownership history of American cars. Each state has their own Dept of Motor Vehicles, there is no national/federal registary..
A few of the states add a letter to the front of the VIN to signify the times the vehicle has changed ownership, ie., An "A" means the vehicle has only changed ownership once, where-as a "D" means the vehicle has changed ownership four times. California is not one of those states.
I seem to recall that in many of the European country's, every owner of a vehicle is listed on the ownership documents. Of course vehicle ownership was for many years limited to the more wealthy citizens of a country..
