ALSO check the vacuum hose "supplying" the wiper motor from under the hood, you will most likely find it cracked and leaking THUS "NO" wipers....you might replace that hose before you try the wipers after lubrication of the motor. IF it is rubber that is!!!

Nice car Wedgetail ! Keep the vacuum system & as others have said get it rebuilt or, try a SMALL amount of Marvel Mystery Oil in it. I did this to one that didn't work at all. Manually move the paddle back & forth to get the oil distributed & leave it sit a day or so. Hook the vac line back up, start the engine & give it e try. Worked for me. Didn't run like new, but was fine 4 me.

Wiper switch on old cars are usually found in the middle of the dash on the top close to the center windshield divider.

I got some oil into the wiper vacuum motor and that helped a lot. Not quite enough to run the wipers on a dry windshield, but with a little soapy water on the windshield they fired right up. I guess I can only use the wipers when it is raining out! That’s not terrible.

You mentioned a cabin heater - can you post pictures or a description of what heater system you have? I just recently installed an accessory hot water heater in my '40 Sedan and would be interested to see which one you have.

Here’s a picture of the hot air heater I have. the red arrows on the picture show airflow. The corrugated hose pulls air off the back of the radiator. The centrifugal blower sends it down below to a heat exchanger wrapped around the exhaust just forward of the muffler. Then the air comes back up, And through the firewall to the dashboard distribution selectors. Hope this helps, or is at least interesting.
