Cannot watch TV with running model A

Sorry, got off on a tangent.

I now return you to your regularly broadcast program.
When filming from a platform on the front of a car was FIRST done, the platform was tied on with ROPE! Filming a chase was going good, until a SHARP turn, & the camera car ran off the road:eek:
"THEY" HAD TIED SOME OF THE ROPES TO THE STEERING LINKAGE--------------------CRASH GORDON, was just invented!!:D

Working with your neighbor of course, start unhooking things. Start by taking the fan belt off. That will eliminate the generator. Then get a resistor coil wire rather than the solid copper one. It can't be much more than that. Had this problem with interference with my cb. After 2 years traced it down to the diode cutout. Have no idea what caused it but put an original cutout on and no noise in the cb.

“The Model A was designed before the advent of TV and wide spread Radio. As such, the ignition system produces a large amount of RFI (Radio Frequency Interference).”

“Tell them to get FIOS or a DISH”

“Instead of you changing plugs possibly he can purchase an electronic filter for his system.”

“Me...it's not my problem. Its your neighbors problem and they need to install better equipment.”

“It's their problem, not yours.”

“Of course it is their problem and I will not do anything about it.”

“I cannot speak what the laws are in your native Denmark with regards to producing RF noise but I cannot imagine any fault can be placed upon you.”

“I would just go start my A for fun!”

Huh? Who is the problem here? This attitude does nothing for positive Model A Ford public relations. Wake up! There was no problem before the Model A came to the neighborhood.

Your neighbors have a problem alright, but it is not their TV. It is YOU.

Its the plug wires ., Remember the old Corvettes that had a cover over the distributor so the radio would play .,

,.,

.,

It is the obligation of the receiver to shield and filter Rf.
We want to be good neighbors and I'd ask them to contact the manufacturer.
RF is everywhere, even turning on a light switch.
The Model A would make Marconi proud.

I cannot speak what the laws are in your native Denmark with regards to producing RF noise but I cannot imagine any fault can be placed upon you.

In the UK many years ago as I grew up, you could be fined for failing to stop RFI from any source, including car ignition systems. It may be your problem.

I had a similar situation with a neighbor who had a HAM radio set. When he was on our TV was useless.
He told me I had to buy screen/filters as it was my problem not his as he was a licensed operator!
Nice neighbor! :)

I won't tell you what I did to solve the issue.....but it didn't involve screen/filters!

Sounds like my neighbor. I was mowing the grass on Monday and he came over to tell me that my pocket gophers were going to his yard. Geez, I didn't know I owned any pocket gophers.
His wife chewed me out last week for tumbling my gas tank with lag bolts inside to remove the old tank liner junk. I did this for one hour, but for 20 years I had to listen to his loud Harley with straight pipes. He'd rev it up several times a day just to see how much noise he could make. People who have 5 or more acres are lucky because you don't have such close neighbors to deal with.

My neighbors are pretty good and so I can keep work on my cars on the odd late night or early morning without complaints I go out of my way to keep them happy
if that meant swapping a few spark plugs that's what I would do
