Do any of the Canadian guys know the name of the tool manufacturer of this Canadian monkey wrench? This mark appears on a number of late tools, eg. pliers & wrenches. Cheers- Tom in NZ.

Could be from ETF Tools in Ontario but hard to see from your shot the trade mark.
Been around since early teens into thirties and fifties under different names.

The judging standards show the wrench in question, early ones had Ford script , but later were made by several suppliers . Your wrench has an E inside a circle, no reference to that in the standards. They should be 9 3/8 " long with a square end on it for the differential plug. Hope this helps.

I should have mentioned that the Canadian portion of the standards do not indicate that the tools supplied to Canadian vehicles are different in origin than the American tools.

Thanks for the replies. All good info which I will look into.
I have looked through Alloy Artifacts but nothing on Canadian tool makers.
Also considered Eberhard but there were many toolmakers in Canada.
For '28-'29, Canada used mostly US toolmakers, but late production sees mostly local sourced items.
If anyone has a spare kit wrench [the larger one] marked E encircled, I would be interested in buying . Cheers - Tom in NZ.

I found this on another thread. May or may not be worth looking into.

" Made In Canada' appears on the 2 wrenches,[ previous usually no Ford script], ; an 'E' or 'E' encircled are Canadian [ Eureka, Ontario?] marks on unscripted items.. Also McKinnon supplied some items [ thistle logo] but were acquired by GM early '29."

I see Rotorwrench already posted the correct answer in #8 and here I thought I was doing a good deed. Nice info thanks

Great info !
I think Rotowrench has nailed it. Eberhard was in Cleveland which when I looked at a map is not too far from Detroit & Windsor, just across Lake Eyrie.
Ford Canada used suppliers in Ontario but also in nearby US. The American companies could probably handle quick orders better than Canadian ones. Cheers. Tom in NZ.

I have one of those with no markings at all other than the Ford script and "Made in Canada" in the handle. Maybe no one wanted to own up to making it??:)

Old mate gave me the small spanner the other day. Has ford script and this on it.
