I have a rebuilt Canadian 276 cu inch engine with the three oil port configuration. I 've heard various explanations for this including that it was part of a block heating arrangement, that it was for a second filter and that it was part of a remote filter set up. All ports were factory drilled for 1/4 inch pipe. The horizontal connection was not drilled and tapped for a plug to separate the pump outlet from what I guess was a return line to the main oil gallery. Without this plug was this layout only as efficient as its American counterpart? Anyone know how Ford of Canada described this system? Thanks for the help. Lefty
