Camshaft to Crankshaft Distance

The above link will take you to Vince Falter's Ford Garage web site. Specifically, to his page illustrating the positioning between the camshaft and crankshaft.

I am trying to verify the 4.154"-4.156" on my engine. As I read the illustration; my eyes tell me to measure from the center of the camshaft to the nearest circumference of the crankshaft.

Can anyone tell me if my eyes are seeing this correctly?

I sent an email to Vince a couple days ago asking the same question, but have not yet heard a response. Of course, I do not know how often he checks his email. I thought in the mean-time, I would ask the same question here on Ford Barn.

all the above, plus look at the photo as if the forward stub of the crank were not there; that is what is misleading you. His cross hairs are actually on the hole in the crank gear to say it another way

Everyone - Thank you, and I agree; especially since last night I received a reply from Vince stating "center to center" also.

I have to apologize to Vince because I can't read, and that I should have been more patient.
