cam shaft removal on V8-60

I am coming to the experts again for help.

This is for my 1940 Ford Business Coupe with a V8-60 engine.

I have all of the valve train out and I am ready to remove the cam.

I have a phenolic cam gear.

I see no bolts holding the cam in place.

There are no access holes in the cam gear to get to any bolts.

I also see no access in the back of the cam to replace the bearing.

How is the cam removed?

How is the phenolic gear taken off of the cam shaft?

How do I remove and replace the rear cam bearing?

Thank you again for your assistance with this.

The gear can be pressed off, or it can be cut loose with a hacksaw, the new gear should have a fine line scribed in the bore and on the face of the hub that is aligned with the scribe mark on the cam

some of the rear cam plugs I have seen soldered

I made a cam bearing tool out of a worn cam, turned the gear hub area to .010 smaller than the block bore, cut the back 1/2 off to the rear of the #2 bearing

once the lifters are out the cam should come out, sludge can make it seem like there is something holding it
