California Fires?

I don't know, but I think he took it down because it was not related enough to the subject, which is Model A's. So. . . Does anyone know if any Model A's were destroyed in the fire?

Yeah, I went off on a rant and it got pulled right after that. Sorry about that.

Typical...

There were some pictures of Model As and other classic cars. But it is more than about the cars. It is also about the people. An elderly couple in my club had to evacuate, leaving their Town Sedan behind. Luckily his house was spared. The fire came within 3 blocks of his house.

I know that the Santa Anita As are real close to the Eaton Fires. Some members are on Ford Barn. Tom Endy belongs to the Santa Anita As.

I can understand the emotions involved living through all of that...
No apologies needed JayJay you are OK:)

I did see on the news a 1930 Model A Coupe burning up it was a goner...

I've seen photos of several A's lost. I belong to Santa Anita and at least one members home and cars were lost in the Eaton fire.

SoCal is the center of the car collecting world. When you add in all collectables from the brass era to muscle cars you'll find 1,000s were lost in these fires. In our neighborhood there are at least 25 collectables. An eclectic list of Model As, WWII jeeps, little Tbirds, Mustangs, Camaros, 50s hot rods, British sports cars, etc.

Hagerty set up a local office to handle claims. Show up with your title and they'll cut you a check on the spot.

This was a 1968 GT500KR Shelby convertible. Lost in the Palisades fire by a member in the other club I'm in.

In the end it's just stuff the real loss are the lives and other memories that have been destroyed.

EDIT got this link today - I know we got off on a tangent with the last thread. This explains what was used and how in the SoCal fires - no comments necessary it's just some good FYI. https://www.reuters.com/graphics/CA...440&utm_medium=email&utm_placement=newsletter

My Hagerty rates jumped up about $65 last year! That is the reason why I stopped using Hagerty. I'm currently looking for another company to ensure with.
I have never made a claim but the rate jumped almost 35%!!!

Mine did too... have never had a claim... getting very pricey.

Time to shop around, they have been bought out anyway and are now 'corporate' from my understanding.

Auto insurance is increasing but not nearly as much as fire

My collectors insurance disallows my son from driving the A’s
Not enough miles under his butt

Never seen a L-1011 that close to the ground with his landing gear stowed!!
These guy make crop dusters look like amateurs. I had a friend apply to fly the lead plane. He had some crop dusting time along with well over 2000 hours of low level mapping time and many documented hours of low level aerobatics with 4,000+ hours in an L1011 (including instructor & check pilot in that and the DC10). Not enough experience.
