My dash is so nice including speedometer I’d really like to continue using with a C4 rather than an aftermarket speedo.

Did you try to use the stock cable? On a Chevrolet transmission the stock cable works. as I recall (it's been awhile) I used a stock cable when I put a C-4 behind a flathead. If your C-4 has a male end on the speedometer drive gear unit on the transmission then the stock cable (female end) will go right on it.

Look on ebay for a mustang speedo cable and compare ends.. Not sure what the speedo end of your car looks like. If compatible, measure the length you need and check ebay for something close.

If the threads on the back of the speedometer are the same as a 39 truck speedometer the 64 falcon/ mustang C4 cable fits and is the correct length.

How's that work? '39 speedometer has female threads while the speedometer end of a Mustang cable has male threads.

I can get a picture next weekend when I take the 39 truck 60mph speedometer out and put in a 39 deluxe 100mph speedometer. The C4 speedometer cable I got off eBay.

Rich B has it correct. The 39 speedo has female threads. If you bought a speedo cable on e-Bay for a C-4 one end will work for the transmission end, but will not work for the '39 speedo end.

That is correct I made a mistake. I got a 39 pickup truck cable and it fitted the C4 bullet
