You can get an Int'l MO (pink one)from the US Post Office. It depends on the amount but I paid $3.50 fee for the MO for an item that was less than $50.

The Post Office is the way to go. Can't remember if I had to pay a duty fee. But it will take longer for shipping.

Being Canadian I pay for U.S items with a U.S money order drawn on a Canadian Bank and there is no additional fees to me. However this is an additional service that is offered by Canadian Banks and you need to look at the various Banking packages so be inquisitive when Banking. Typically if you don't have this service it's only a few additional dollars for a U.S Money order. If a Bank was going to charge me $30 for a U.S money order I'd be Banking somewhere else!

I've sold items to Canada. They paid by a Canadian Postal Money order in US dollars. The good thing about this is the USPS will cash them.

Paypal is the way to go. My bank wanted to charge me 30.00 to cash a money order from Canada. The part I got paid for was only around 25.00.

I'll cast another vote for PayPal. It is so quick and so simple. Some report bad experiences but I'm at at a lost to explain. I've been using it for 10+ years and never had a glitch.

I've bought and sold to the U.S. and my preferred way is by using the Post Office for money orders and delivery. I live in Toronto and we have Post offices in every Shoppers Drug Mart and its really convenient to get U.S. money orders and also to ship parcels. The only problem I run into is the higher cost to mail a package to the U.S. from Canada and I think some people think I'm trying to rip them off for postage when in fact all I ever charge is the actual postage.

I try not to deal with UPS because they charge a very high brokerage fee to clear customs and Canada post hasn't charged me any additional fees so far.

I've bought several times from Canadian sellers that have crossed the border to send the item and avoid the confusion of the two postal systems.

I took a $1300 check from a Canadian at the Hershey Meet made out in US Dollars. His Credit Union called my bank and verified the funds were in US Dollars. He promised to make good on any additional fees. Well, my bank turned the check over to a money exchange company and I was charged $60. My Canadian buyer stuck to his promise but my bank did us both wrong. Needless to say I no longer have money in that bank. If you deal across the border this way make sure the bank you are dealing with has locations in both countrys. Say like Morgan Chase, etc.

I have both bought and sold with Canada. Never had a problem with pay pal.
The only thing is that silly little form for import to Canada which the post office requires you to fill out. It take 3 or 4 minutes.
